At Áras Uí Chonghaile, we are working to be an environmentally responsible and sustainable visitor attraction.

We are part of the Green Tourism Business Scheme and have achieved the Bronze Green Tourism Award.

Although running a business can have a negative impact on the environment, we are committed to reducing that impact where possible.

Our commitment includes the following:

• We do not own any company vehicles.
• We communicate electronically wherever possible.
• We use local suppliers where possible to provide our promotional materials, merchandise and café supplies.
• All our audio headsets are powered with rechargeable batteries.
• We are working to reduce our energy usage and impact through ongoing reviews and improvements.

We are dedicated to working with and enhancing our community. This is a key element of our ethos of Neighbourhood Tourism and Community Wealth-Building and we work with neighbouring organisations, community groups and businesses to provide a top-quality service for our local, national and international visitors

We aim to operate as sustainably and as responsibly as possible and are always working to improve how we do this. We encourage our visitors to do the same!
